Common and sworn translation

Sworn translation (also known as certified translation) is a translation recognized by the authorities in the Czech Republic and abroad as official. The translation is bound to the original or notarised copy and stamped with a sworn translator's round stamp. In some cases, the authorities also require 'superlegalisation', an additional certification, which I can arrange for if needed.

The authorities, both local and foreign, might settle with a common translation. In case the authority does not inform you about this, I recommend asking whether they require sworn or common translation.

In every case, I make the best effort to make the translated document look as similar as the original. That way, the translation has a clear structure and is easy-to-take-in for all parties involved.

Translation of documents for your company

These may be:

• Certificate of incorporation
• Charter, deed of incorporation, or articles of incorporation
• Employment contracts, internal regulations, powers of attorney
• Agreements executed with other entities (sale and purchase, credit, etc.)
• Annual reports, tax returns, income statements,…

Translation of documents for you

These may be:

• Birth, marriage, or death certificates
• Proof of good character or excerpt from the Trade Register
• Documents related to residence permit
• School reports, diplomas, certificates
• Court resolutions or police reports
• Bank or credit agreements, insurance policies, account statements
• Other agreements and contracts (work, credit, purchase, etc.)

Proofreading

Do you need to check and improve a text? I can offer my 12 years of experience with proofreading to you.

If you order proofreading, I will need the original document as well. Without it, making sure that the translation is correct is almost impossible. I can, however, check the text from the stylistic, typographic, and grammar perspective.

If you need me to proofread a sworn translation (also "certified proofreading"), I will need the complete translation.

Additional services

Would you like me to take care of everything? With the additional services I offer, all you need is to send the original to me and you can put it out of your mind – I will arrange for everything else.

Are you in a hurry? With the express translation, your translation will be ready within a single day.

Will you need the original copy later? No worries, I will arrange for notarized copy to which the sworn translation will be bound. The original copy will be sent back to you along with the translation.

Is apostille or superlegalization required? Both are quite time-consuming processes which require visit to at least one official authority. If you don't have the time to do it, I will arrange the apostille or the superlegalisation for you.

Would the mail or the courier arrive too late? I can deliver the translation to you personally.
